The passenger side should be a little easier because you don't have to contend with the master cylinder. What a pain.

I'm pretty sure with the "Off Road" edition you have to remove the tower. I did mine a couple of weeks ago and if there would have been a way to get the old shock out without removing the tower, I would have figured it out and I'm sure if there was a way, Dukes would have found it. Maybe I'm wrong but I didn't see a way.

Why are people so afraid of cutting the damn shocks in half, takes 10 minutes to do one side if you know what you're doing

Got done about 30 min ago pass side was alot easier wish i had my cam working, i couldnt fit it thru anywhere without removing the tower i undid bottom and top and used pry bar to kick bottom out and pushed top shock down and over ,nada, and if i cut the shock in half or pieces and pulled it out ,i couldnt of got the new one in. So i'm done took it for a quick test drive and everythings solid, Dont get me wrong, i wasted a -lot of time just looking at and trying different ways, Even called up a good front end guy and he said it should have studs and that it sounded ****ed up. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT AND IDEAS, HOPE EVERYTHING HOLDS TOGEATHER OR IM GETTING A PLASMA CUTTER AND GONNA GO APE ****, LOL,,,SO REAR SHOCKS 20 MIN FRONTS +/- 7HRS ...EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!

I've got a Sawsall but apparently I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to cutting shocks in half. I don't see how you could even get half out much less get the new one in.

i would have let my axle flex and put a bottle jack between the frame and axle to push it down far enough to let the coil decompress untili was able to get a wrench on the bottom side of those bolts

I did try to flex the axle and jacked up the frame to see if i could get the coil spring to fall out of the bucket , but when i got up pretty high the spring wasnt looking good and was tweaking and creaking moaning and groaning , so i put my ***** in the wife's purse and chickened out cause i thought that sum bitch was gonna go paatwang! and shoot out of there, so i scratched that idea. LMFAO ! im getting delerious i gotta go to bed.......
