[quote=Gerehead8;2096071]E-fan Spendy? Maybe for one of the dual setups and shrouds but I have a single 16 summit brand fan and an adjustable controller (about $130 total) and I have no overheating problems. The truck stays cooler than stock even in 75 degree heat in traffic. Eventually I will upgrade to dual summit fans and an aluminum shroud off ebay.

Yeah i was thinking dual setup, i never thought about a single one. I know thier are cheaper ones and cheaper ways to do a E-fan, but this what comes up for my truck, 5900 cfm sounds good . http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRM-19520/

Mine is doing that too now, why did you change yours? for looks or preventative maintenance? Was it chafing on the rad? I can pry mine back up with a couple screwdrivers, but it won't stay there.

Just curious if it caused you problems so I'll know what to do about mine...

It will destroy the radiator sitting there. My radiator was pushed up and forward and was coming apart. I don't have it anymore so I unfortunatly can't get pics. When I put the new radiator in I drilled three small holes in the shroud and one in the middle of the top radiator brace. I used this hole and the 2 slits in the radiator along with the new holes in the shroud to zip tie the two together. It has been working well so far.

sorry I am late max. I think I saw a picture of someone who had it held there with some screws sedved between the top of the rad and the shroud. THat would eventually dig into the rad.

Junkyard sold the "new" shroud to me for 30 bucks and it fit perfectly. After I changed that i stopped sitting on the fan shroud during tune ups

I noticed that the temp was a biiiiit cooler. I was even thinking of putting weatherstripping between the shroud and rad to make s tight seal. But the chance of it coming loose and getting caught in the fan (maybe throwing a belt) stopped me.

It is a quick fix, and it makes for a good day in the junkyard. YOu never know what else you will find there. Can be a good or bad thing depending on how much you have in your wallet.

the piston rod is still good lol...looks like one from a ford.

and ive seen efans going for abut 250 bucks....thats not bad since you will take less strain off the motor, and it will cool better.
