Default Cup Holder

so i haven't found much about this on this forum so i was wondering what yall did to fix this problem. i still don't understand why dodge uses cheap plastic on the interior. anyway, the cup holder it self is fine, it is just the part that bends when you pull down and push up that is broke. it looks like there might have been a long pin that ran through those two small holes on the end. any idea where to get a better made cup holder? wanna stay away from dealer. any home remedies to fix this crap? thanks in advance.

I've seen someone on here fix their cupholder with a small cable, same idea as how the tailgate cables work.... can't remember who it was though.....

and there is a wicked cupholder you can buy for these trucks. It fits over the front part of your console and gives you two extra cupholders and a junk bin... I'll look it up for ya

thanks for the link, doesn't look bad at all and i wouldn't have to use my legs! what to do with the extra space if i was to take out the old cup holder?? well if i decide to buy the one from the link i'll know by then. until then, i'll look to see if i can fix the original, otherwise that one would work fine. and it's black so even better

has anyone else ever noticed there is a light bulb above the cup holder? when i was installing my radio this weekend i noticed it and couldn't figure out a way to get it out. i thought i was about to break it. anyway, i wish i would have known what a "good" cup holder looks like. i can't figure out what would have been where the broken pieces are. my cup holder is broke at the bottom two plastic pieces. anyway, it seems like a dumb idea to construct a cup holder like that.

regardless, how the heck does that bulb come out and would super glue work for the cup holder?

I had no idea there was a bulb in there, gonna have to have a look at mine.....

and I wouldn't trust superglue to hold it together, unless you weren't planning to put drinks in it.....

haha yeah i didn't think it would work with the extra weight. just hate people opening up goin "whats this?" and the **** is all broke and you have to move the middle piece just to close it up.

i might go with the cup holder that goes with the console..cheapest ant more reliable method

I have the Geno's Garage cup holder mentioned above. The best one going, hands down.
