Cool Lowering help

I have an 01 Reg Cab SB 1500 Sport with the off-road suspension but don't do any mudding. We live in tha Laurel Highlands of PA near Seven Springs Ski Resort and use the 4x4 for BAD roads. My wife needs a 4x4 for her work and travels some farm "roads" (paths through fields) and I am trying to make this one more comfortable for her to use. I am trying to lower and level it but am unable to afford much money at this time so I am looking for suggestions on how to get lowered 3-5 inches in the back and 1-3 inches in the front without a lot of money invested. Has anyone done this or have some suggestions? Thanks for any assistance

for the back take out the block and get lowering shackles ($50) and/or flip your front hanger

take out the space between dodge and talk

How are you trying to make it more comfortable for her? Are you looking at softer/smother ride quality? or easier for her to get in and out of the truck?

If your just after a more comfortable ride. Throw some Monroe Sensatrac shocks on there for a more plush ride, and get some side steps.

Thanks for the information. I am trying to lower it so it is easier for her to get in and out of. I was aware of the block removal in the rear and possibly the lowering shackles. My biggest problem is making the front match the rear with whatever I do to the back. Are there any spacers or easy ways to lower the front. If so I would do those first and then do the rear to make it level .

only thing for a 4x4 is to cut the coils a little, then realignment.....may want to take it to a shop first and see if it could be properly aligned afterwards.....or maybe look into some v6 4x4 springs

My wife has the same problem with mine, it's funny as hell cause i have to kinda push her up into the truck, "give me another good reason to grab her *** so i dont complain"

But trimming the front springs is the easiest way and cheapest, but as suggested earlier you will need an alignment.

i would cut the first two top coils out and that will lower you a good 2 1/2 inches or so.

Just make sure you get it even so it seats in the tower like it's supposed to so you dont end up having the spring pop out sideways.
