no fire to the coil
You might be at a dead end man, im not sure what all changed in OBDI and OBDII i know the injector connections are different, and some other connections are different.
Along with a different PCM

See thats the thing im kinda wondering about, i dont think an OBDI engine can be switched to an OBDII system, the harness and computer is different along with some of the things that are on the engine are in different spots and somethings are simply not even there.
im not sure of what is there and what isnt but i really doubt you can replace OBDI parts with OBDII.

since your truck is an 01, use the 01 pcm, 01 wiring, and all the 01 sensors. either move the 01 intake to the 96 engine, or just block off/plug off the egr and extra temp sensor hole.
other than the intake, the engines themselves are the same.
by the way 94-95 is OBD-1 and 96+ is OBD-2.
(computer wise, 96-97 was sort of an oddball era)
some significant computer changes started in 98, thats why superchips only works on 98+

ok i used the 01 intake, the 01 distributor, the 01 coil, the 01 crank sensor, and an 01 oil pressure senor other than that all the plugs where the same. think theres any thing else i might need to swap?
Do our trucks have a inertia switch some where? i know alot of GM's and ford have them that kills the fuel pump when the truck is in an accident or in a roll over crash.
Some where along the line it could have shorted out causing the pump to kill over.
