no fire to the coil

check the pickup coil make sure you didnt pinch the wire iv had the same conditions as you because of this...

i have no power at the coil and no spark at the plugs. i no its getting fuel im just not getting any fire im pretty sure i don't have any pinched wires but i will double check

today some one told me about a voltage regulator? do our trucks have this? any info?

It's in the distributor, the wire that comes out with it.

Pop up the cap, pop the rotor off and the pickup coil is gonna come right out.

Inspect it to make sure there is no problems with the wiring.

Also if you are going to replace it, get OEM crank and camshaft (pickup coil) sensors. I had a problem with my crank sensor, aftermarket NAPA sensor didn't fix it, but a new OEM made the thing run top. Goes for both of them, they are built to a precise engineering degree. And what I paid for aftermarket parts, the OEM ones were about 10-15 more, so it wasn't even that bad cost wise.

well after coming about 2 inches from putting a 1/2 drive threw the windshield i think i give up and am gonna let this piece of **** sit for the rest of the year till i get back from basic training then ima part the damn thing out and haul what i dont sell across the scales and go get my a cummins like i wanted to begin with.

Been there, done that. Did you ever try replacing the coil, or were you getting no voltage to it?

Man if you've got the cash at this point i would stop trying to figure it out and tow it to a shop.
