Molded foam, it's about 3/4 of an inch thick so it filters great but it also has some awesome air flow.
just hand wash with warm water and some soap and let it dry in the sun and you're good to go, and replacement filters are only like 5 bucks.
Has kick *** sound and gives you a nice little boost in throttle response, and you will really notice it if you have the fastman mod.
Edit: np about the pic's sorry it took me so long to do it.

It doesn't really perform better unless u have a lot of motor mods, its mainly for looks, and gives you extra space. I like the stock setup with a k&n drop in better. Like you said though, its all about personal preference.

No I don't think so. I love the look of the 14x3 but for me personally it doesn't provide as much low end as the stock setup. Laramie1997 found that without an airbox his truck ran .5 seconds slower in the quarter mile then his truck did with the stock airbox with k&n filter. That says quite a bit. I like the stock setup because I tow a lot and it puts the power down low. The 14x3 puts the power between 3000 RPM and up, on a stock setup anyways.
