get this one:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DCC-5249807/

It will look sweet when you get the valvecovers to match like i did...for 100 on ebay!!!:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Thise go anywhere between 120-175 dollars USED. They really keep their value because people do not want to spend 199.99-220 on them NEW.

I like the stock setup because I tow a lot and it puts the power down low. The 14x3 puts the power between 3000 RPM and up, on a stock setup anyways.
That says quite a bit alrighty. Says Laramie is the first guy to run slower by adding a 14x3 compared to the countless others over the many years the 14x3 has been around that got opposite results lol.

I'm not saying he should make his decision based on that statement, just relaying what I have heard. In your experience, does the 14x3 provide better results than the stock setup on a stock engine? I know yours wasn't stock for very long haha. Like I said, I like both setups, and I switch between the two every now and then, but for me, I think the stock setup is better for towing. Maybe its just my imagination though.

Bone stock 5.9 should see a nice gain from a 14x3"

On my way home from the dealer first day with the Indy (April 29/96) dropped in to local speed shop & ordered K&N fipk.
Less than 3 wks later the 14x2.25" kit arrived (smaller filter fits np).
July 8/96 Chryslers at Cayuga meet my first time down the 1/4m.
3 other Indys were there, we were all identical in every way (360/3.55/lsd) except,
I had 125lb f/g tonneau (stripped) & a K&N 14x2.25" fipk.

Only 2 of the others raced that day. We talked & compared ets all day.
They never ran faster than 16.3
Mine never ran slower than a 16.3, best of the day for me was 16.0 (time slip on my 96 page)
All our trucks were brand new, less than 2000miles (think I had 1100miles at time)

That year, my ets would vary by up to 1/2 second just from track conditions & weather.
As my truck got faster, I could see 3/4 of a second variance in ets from best to worst conditions.

12-14yr old trucks can have a variety of issues between trips to a dragstrip so could easily loose/gain et even if conditions are exactly the same.

After running a K&N 14x3 for a year or two, I put a stock box with a drop in K&N in it on my truck and I couldn't believe the power loss with it on there.
I got on it and it felt like I was towing something with how much longer it took to get up to speed and there was also a lack of throttle response.

The only thing a stock air box is good for is if you're going to play in the mud.

I am going to throw the 14x3 back on, reset the PCM, hook up the trailer and see if there is any difference. Thanks for sharing RM-Indy!

You could go with an Edelbrock 1221 Pro-Flo Series.

It's $30 at Summit. Might be able to get it for $25 on ebay.

Looks like this installed on a 5.9:

Edit:

Wow looking back my engine bay is a dirty mess
