Most say that it is a serious pain in the *** and plan on 8 hours for the job, but I have read others that say it isn't bad and can be done in much less time. I will keep this post updated with how my experience turns out. As far as the dash goes, mine is already cracked from just sitting. I'm pretty sure every 2nd generation dash that came off the production line has a cracked dash. I hope my temper doesn't flair or I may end up with no dash at all! lol
First time is the learning curve. A conservative estimate is 8 hours. Trust me when I say that it is very involved and will take a while. Read up on the DIY.

the DIY seems to jump around with a lot of different input. but overall, its better than nothing and seems to be an awesome guide, just fill in the pieces from other peoples posts. i know what you mean about finals too, just finished with mine!

now i have an internship though during the summer semester! how is a college student doing an internship THAT ISN'T PAID supposed to live for 2 1/2 months?

I just put a dash cover over my dash 4 months ago & today my heater core went. Am I right in thinking that I or my mechanic will destroy my cover removing the dash or is there another way to get to it?

EDIT: I also read in another thread to try some stop leak in the radiator. I thought that was a big no-no. What is the current prevailing opinion on this?

Stop Leak is great if your out in the middle of nowhere in a survival situation and need to hold coolant to get to civilization. other than that is NOT advisable...it will clog and gum up in every nook and cranny.

and, not to go OT, but there have been times that i was sitting in the truck and could actually hear and see the bezel cover of the dash cracking !!!
