Do you have access to a welder? They are really easy to make. I built mine out of square tube and expanded metal and alone it only took a weekend. It is way more heavy duty than every purchased one I have seen too. If i get a chance I will post pics but I am pretty busy right now.

I wanted to get one too, I haul a lot of full loads of firewood and dont want any coming throught the rear window. But they all seem a bit pricey.

You might want to check with some local fab guys....we can normally send those racks out of our fab shop cheaper than even online only companies sell them for, unless you're looking for some of kind of super crazy/complicated design.

the one I have is pro tech which is probably one you've researched. it's aluminum. I think mine was $300 from the pro tech factory, i can go find the receipt if you really want to know the exact amount. I think pro tech headache racks look really sharp on any dodge ram. I wired mine with 6 LED amber lights (3 on each side) and 2 fog lights mounted in the mesh of it for lighting up the rear at night. personally, i think they have the best looking racks anywhere but its up to you.
