Figuring out if I have LSD?

In neutral is how I tested mine, IIRC.

maybe its a good thing i didn't buy the oil yet. i jacked up my truck with the jack that came with the truck. i left the truck in P, spun the LR and the RR went the opposite direction. i guess i'm SOL. how come the damn owners manual didn't specify which one i had? i wish my damn truck had the tags still, i think it has a short one but all i can make out is a 140*. i believe it is a four digit tag, but i can't make out the last digit. earlier in the thread i posted some info from a sticky note on my glovebox. it had some specifications, does it help us out at all?
i saved this link earlier this week: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...26tbs%3Disch:1

none taken my friend, i appreciate the correction, i just wasnt thinkin about it too hard before i posted.. i knew one of the two made the wheels spin opposite, and the other way was the same direction...

If the truck is in park, the wheels won't turn if you have LSD. Or, if they do, it will be very stiff. (indicating your LSD is about worn out).
With both wheels off the ground, truck in neutral, LSD will spin both tires the same direction, open diff they will go opposite directions. (assuming the driveshaft doesnt start turning as well.)

LSD or Not
You're test should only work if th xfer case was in neutral also, which would allow my truck to roll across the street, or have I been out in the sun too much today?

That won't necessarily tell you anything. True, a limited slip differential in good working order will always lay down two equal marks, but an open differential can do the same thing. I've had an open diff light up both back wheels equally, that just means they have equal traction at the time they break loose.
