Default *UPDATE FIX *1998 Dodge ram acceleration hesitation

Hi All..... I have a 1998 Ram 4X4 with a 5.2 Mag , I have 108,000 miles on the truck but less than 500 miles ago I had a 2001 motor with 50,000 put in . Here recently I have been getting a problem where if I take off and floor it the truck between 0 and 25 kinda bogs down ? if I let up about half way in the throttle its like a power band kicks in and it has power after that until I stop and start all over ?

The check engine light is on but it came on after we took off the catalytic converter off

Any Ideas would be great ! Thanks

What kind of exhaust system do you have? Spark plugs?

When was the last time you checked that front O2 sensor? The rear one has absolutely nothing to do with how your truck performs... its sole purpose is to determine whether or not the cat is working properly. Just leave that one be.

What plugs did you get? He meant to make sure that the O2 sensors are still in the exhaust pipe, and not damaged/hanging out from when you removed the cat. Did you get your exhaust redone, or just remove the converter?

i had similar problem to what it sounds like you are having, I put two spark arresters infront of my rear o2 sensor and the problem was solved. The rear o2 sensor even though everyone says it has no control over your truck performance does seem to be linked to performance funtions, i don't know how but it does.

Well your not going to believe what it was .... After all the hard work and time it all came down to 18.59 . It was the Output Speed Sensor I had replaced the one on the back axle but this was the one on the back of the transmission ...... Here is the fix part http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...t+speed+sensor

Is this the one on the top of the differential on the rear axle?
