run into this issue with other vehicles and lift blocks. i believe, that because the 1/2 tonne springs are 2.5" wide, the block is narrower; the 3/4 tonne springs are 3" wide, and hence that stock block is a little wider. hence it doesn't really fit well on the springperch as the perch and bolt plate (i think its actually welded to the diff right?) are set for the smaller block.

personally i dont' like the idea of stacking blocks either, but i think welding them together should work just fine and can't cost that much. surely if you know a welder or someone with a welding truck they can lay a bead for you;

There HAS to be some place to get lift blocks. What shop in Burnsville are you talking about? I live in Fargo, ND and make it down to the cities every 6-10 weeks and it seems like we always end up in Burnsville looking at cars or something... I figured that there would be some lift blocks online or something.

Alright, after doing a little research online I found a place that has lift blocks in different sizes and widths.

Here is the link,

I will order a set tomorrow and let you guys know what happens when I get them installed.

I'll need to call them to see what they have. I know the stock ones are not long enough and I would like to get a thicker U bolt anyway. I'll let you know what they say.

You guys are nuts with the lift blocks. Ill be running 37's on my 01 and I'm going to be removing the rear block and flairing my bedsides. Fiberglass front fenders for the front to clear. I have a friend running 39s on his 04 2500 with a leveling kit...

That sounds really cool... Make sure you post some pics when you are done.

The 04 Ram has a lot of tire clearance from the factory and a leveling kit will allow a much bigger tire than the 2nd generation Rams with a leveling kit.

You do realize that if you take out the rear block you are going to lower your truck about 3" in the rear.. Let us see how that turns out.

Why are we nuts for running a rear block? Every truck i have ever built has had lift blocks or welded blocks... I myself have not had any problem with them. Haha. To each there own though..

Ok,

I ordered a set of 4.5 inch blocks and a set of U bolts for the axle.

All together it was only $101.87 shipped.

The U bolt size that is stock was 2.5 x 12.50 x 9/16 thread
The U bolt that will replace that is 2.5 x 13.50 x 9/16 thread

If you wanted to go a little higher, they have a 15.50 U Bolt length as well.

Here are the lift blocks;

Well my truck has the offroad package so its already 2inch higher then the stock 4x4 rams. The kore vr coil that I will be running is a three inch lprogressive rate coil the front will sit a little higher then the stock coil. I still have some things to figure out though as far as ride height. The front will have Glassworks front fiberglass fenders to clear 37s. If I take the rear block out it won't have that rake anymore either. blocks cause to many problems esp axle rap.
