3 letter words are too short for the search so I went to the quick search box and put in "still alive" and it was pretty close to the top.

Hey cool I just found this thread. Yeah, after Dodge Cancelled the project to build the PRoduction version of the T-Rex we started our project. Dodge sponsored us and we built the Green competition T-Rex. THen we needed one for a tow rig to haul this one over the highways( even though it is street legal) so I talked with Dodge and we started discussion about selling a protype to us as a tow rig. After a few months they came back and said that they would sell one of thier prototypes to us...for $150K......Ouch...yeah right... so we built our own.

Man Dodge missed the boat in the Tow rig one-tons, this thing could tow like crazy. it was awesome!!!!!!!

Dodge Corporate Prototype:

Our Dodge Tow-Rex. Most awesome tow vehicle:

And finally the Dodge T-Rex for competition: It is all stock except the axles, suspension, and exo-cage / bumper. IT has been competing for over 10 years and has helpd up well:

...and of course a video...just search Youtube for Dodge T-Rex for more..

it is ironic that spruiett is a "rookie" on this forum.

Great job! The amazing thing is that you have put some brutal miles on the truck and the engine is stock. So that says a lot about how stout the V10 is.

You folks have any trouble with the 'over the shoulder' driveshaft contacting the front axle when you have it crossed up like in the photo on the rocks there??

On the Competition T-Rex we used Rockwell axles with Input-Output shafts. We did not use the gear over box. If you are going to do Offroad applications with the gear over box you can, but to get extreme articulation and to keep your drive shafts way out of the rocks and mud, use two gearover boxes, one on each axle.

Watch this video and you can see the underside of the T-Rex and how it works..it is pretty cool:

Yeah, I am kinda a newbie to this forum, and I don't have much time to spend on it. However, I am a Mopar maniac through and through. MY first car was a 1968 Dodge Charger. I have had 5 68 chargers, one 07 Charger, two daytonas, one 73 Chanllenger, 5 ramchargers, 5 Ram Trucks, 2-T-Rexes, four Power Wagons, a 1965, a 1977, 1986, and 1961, one Raider, One Laser, 3 Jeeps, and some other odds and ends.....

I have owned some CHevys and Fords(never again), but the Dodges have done me the best.

Ah, Ok, that explains quite a bit. I was thinking you were using the same setup as on the Tow-Rex.

Thank You.

Side Note: LOVE the truck. That is just awesome.
