You can pick up weld on bungs at any auto parts store. A friend of mine that owns a shop had to do an "X" pipe, and mount the sensor there, in order to keep it from setting a code though.
The downstream sensor can be placed in a single tube, a foot or so away from the primary, or, you can get the little plug in feller (forgot the keyword/tricky phrase for it) that plugs into the harness, and spoofs the computer into thinking it is there.
I have not done this myself.... Yet.

What o2 sensor you talking about the Precat or Postcat o2, if your talking about the postcat o2 you can just ziptie it to the tranny, Im the idiot that did that a year ago and havent had a problem yet, If your talking about the precat o2 sensor thats a different story you need it in at least one pipe(the right way is to get an x-pipe and mount it in there) but you can just put it in one side.
The precat o2 sensor reads the gases from the motor and relays info to the computer, you will need it in a pipe or the motor will not run right.
