Are you putting the seal driver on the lip of the seal or between the rubber and the outer edge (on the flat spot).
And do you have a picture of your seal driver?
The washer on mine was just a hair smaller than the outer lip of the seal, so I had to keep it centered while my dad hit the slide hammer.

How about making a seal installer? A piece of threaded rod, a couple nuts, and some appropriate diameter washers?

HeyYou, ive stated i used a threaded rod with washers and nuts, and ive used an actual seal driver kit....

But i finally got that SOB in yesterday....had to use a 1 11/16 socket, and have a threaded rod going through carrier area, and out driver tube, then i banged the pass. seal in.

Then i went out muddin'....so my trucks pretty dirty right now....i missed my truck so much.... 2 1/2 weeks it was out of commission.

DIY is commin...not going to have the pics for a couple days, but ill have it written up either tonight or tomorrow..

What problems did you run into with the rod trying to pull the seal into place?
