having trouble installing my 14x3
The same reason why you'd loose bottom end switching from the stock airbox to a 14x3..My guess anyway, It would only make since... Maybe someone else will chime in? Thats why i said im not sure.
I am curious why folks seem to think that going to a less restrictive filter system would cause them to lose anything at all? I could see having a power drop across the entire RPM range, due to sucking in hot air from the engine compartment, but, any losses there would be more than made up for by the lack of restriction from the stock set up. I also suspect that the difference would be unnoticeable without some flavor of accurate measuring tool. (and no, the butt-dyno doesn't count)
The engine is an air pump, if you remove a restriction on either side of the equation, you get MORE power. Not less. (this discounts things like changing heads/cam/other internal parts, those, by their very nature, will alter your power band.)
