Arrow Not the same 14x3 question....

Hey guys.
Was just wondering what everyone did to there valve cover breather after changing over to the 14x3 ?( on a 5.2)
I got a old styl crome breather with the holes in the bottem ,it looks good but not to sure if its very efficient ,was thinking of going with the same as stock type that connects to the aircleaner .
What do you think?

put a breather on. Don't connect it to the intake. The reason it is there is to prevent pollution (sucks fumes from the crankcase and burns them in the CCs). A breather is better because it doesn't make your intake air dirty.

Actually...... The ccv system is for more than just emissions...... drawing a light vacuum on the crankcase helps the rings to seal as well, thus giving you less combustion crap to contaminate the oil, and helping your oil do its job better/longer.

And if the air inside your crankcase is dirty, you have bigger fish to fry.... sure, there will be some oil vapor, but, that is partially what the PCV valve is for... limits flow, so you AREN'T sucking in oil.

I used to have a stand alone breather until I started noticing oil fumes in the cab for some reason. I took one of the 90* elbows that come with the 14x3 and ran a hose from it to the stock breather. Hope this helps!
