Default motor update...

well, got the new r/t heads installed, the intake manifold modified and installed a new plenum kit on the bottom of the intake manifold. I also put on a new timing chain. the old one had soo much slop in it I think it may have jumped a tooth. I have taken a bunch of pics along the way and will do a few diy posts thru amanda in the DIY forum.

Look for a waterpump swap, timing chain swap, intake plenum swap, head swap and 1.7 RR install. these will take a week or so to get completed so keep an eye out for them if your interested.

Modding the intake is not an easy task btw... everything else was pretty easy.

Zeek, thanks for the offer, cardomain works great for hosting but we can embed pics here so we're all good.

Fired up the motor last night, took 1/2 a crank then varooommmm, clank clank clank... DOH! missed a rocker. So I get to re-adjust them tonight. For anyone who has been reading these threads, you know my 14 yr old son has been helping me... since I have to re-adjust the RR's, I've been informed on a better procedure which I will do tonight.... he (my son) is gonna get the opportunity to do 1/2 the motor... KEWL! under my supervision of course. look for a writeup in the DIY forum on the RR install & adjustment once I have it (the procedure) dialed in... credit going to those who guided me...

Very cool Steve. Once you get it all dialed in, it'll be like having a new truck.

that's what I'm hoping for (new truck...or motor anyway's). the block is in pretty good shape, there was no ridge on the cylinder walls.

hey what's the deal with your power moon roof? was that from the factory or is it aftermarket? do you have any pics of it?

stupid question, are you changing your injectors to higher flowing ones? The latest buildup of a magnum i read about, they didnt change the injectors and had overheating problems (from it running to lean) and they used the R/T heads, but they were also ported, polished and had a really good 3 angle valve job done on them
