why would you go from 4.10 gears to 3.92?

Gas went over a buck in 1979 in most places and hasn't been under a buck in a long, long time. Average prices since 1996:

Throw in adjustments for inflation, and you'll see that gas was more expensive in 1982/1983 than today.

i dont even want to speculate on what gas prices will go to. there will be a bunch of people selling there rams though and buying scooters if its going to what i heard from the guy at the gas station. he said his uncle was talking to there gas company and within a couple of months could be as high as 6 a gallon here in the south but thats just what he told me, dont know if its true or not

I grew up in NJ, and in 1998 gas was 98 cents per gallon in some places. In 2001, it was 1.06 per gallon.

NJ has always been a very low cost gas state. Mainly because there are lots of refineries in NJ.

Actually, I remember having an argument with a classmate of mine in 2001. He was from Georgia, and he said that gas prices were cheaper in GA than NJ. He was talking about it being 89 cents per gallon in the late 90s.
