Fluid did not smell burnt. Even after driving for ~5 mins at 3500 rpm's, I could hold my hand to the tranny pan without it getting too hot.

Got a rebuild quote today for $1500 with shift kit and a RV torque converter. Is this a good price? Im going to keep driving my truck until it gets worse, cause it does it intermittantly now. I wouldnt think it would be worth it to have a shop pull the tranny for a torque converter, when the tranny has 94,xxx miles on it and not rebuild it.

Could my SCT cause my tranny to start shifting funny? I have had it on there for about 2 months now and no problems, but the other day was the first day I used the 93 octane "performance" setting, and switched it back to 87 "fuel mileage" for the drive to Missouri.

Thanks

As many have seen, Monte hasnt been on here for a few days now. I would like to order the parts to fix my tranny, and havent gotten an answer. My tranny needs a new governor pressure solenoid and a transducer (both go in the valve body). My question is, are these parts I should order from the dealership and get mopar parts, or can I get them from NAPA, AZ, Carquest, etc?

Thanks

If you check earlier in his corner thread, you'll see a GM solenoid (IIRC) that is better than the Chrysler units. I'd get that for sure. There should be a link in there.

I have had my transmission get stuck at those rpms on the highway before. I would pull over, shut it off, start it back up and it worked fine usually. Eventually, like months later, it got to the point where it wouldn't shift out of first gear and I checked for codes and it was the transmission speed sensor. So I would check on that before you look into a rebuild.

Can I buy this from a Chevy dealership? Does it take any modifications? I looked at some of the posts from Monte C and found the website, but didnt know if I can just bolt it up and go...

Thanks

This thread post number 3 shows where to get what you need https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ng-issues.html
They also have the transducer too or you can get that from the dealer.

That thread from Monte says he wouldnt recommend using this with a high mileage tranny. Mine has 94,xxx on it and has not been rebuilt. What is the reasoning behind not using it unless I have a new rebuild?
