Default Horns

So my dear old Mother was riding in my truck yesterday. I hit my horn because of some idiot in front of me, and she laughed. She said "Man, your trunk has a wimpy horn!"

I loled a bit at that. But I have noticed, that the horn doesn't seem as loud as it used to be. I don't really want an air horn or anything like that, just something a bit more hefty.

Anyone have any input for me?

Check the grounds, and power feeds for the horns. If they are getting crusty, clean 'em. Should make them a bit more enthusiastic.

There's nothing wrong with the horn. It just plain sucks. I'm getting a full 14.5 down there at idle.

LOLOL. Mine doesn't sound that bad....... it gets folks attention at any rate.

Of course, watching their mirror fill up with my grill probably doesn't hurt either.

You can get generic replacement horns at any auto store. They are fairly easy to put in. The box will say how many Db's it is.

These are for motorcycles but I am going to install two on my truck. They run around 40 buck each. Stebel Motorcycle Horn. Ive heard one in person and they are louder than the video depicts.

Amazon has them. As I understand it Autozone has them but cost 50 bucks. Almost all the motorcycle shops around here have them for 35-40. Yes they are air.
