#30 on the relay is hot side and if you ran your switch leg off it - the dimmer switch you are using will power one spade (low) and when you push the switch (High) the other unused terminal is now hot..

I suspect that the other terminal shorted out and blew the fuse

Bad luck? Touched the wrong wire, and didn't notice? The bad fuse fairy decided she didn't like you?

Run if for a few days, and see if the fuse is stable. (doesn't blow again shortly.....) If it seems ok, reinstall your switch, and run it some more. See what happens.

You sir, are a God.

That hast to be what is happening. One of the terminals isn't used, and becomes hot when the circuit is open. The terminal also sits extremely close to the floor pan..


Thats gotta be it!
