I've seen clogged filters causing oil pressure issues. I don't think it's unfeasible for a filter to cause oil pressure issues, but i think would be very rare. The filter screws on to the filter port. The filter has holes on top of the filter. If the rubber ring on top is damaged or not snug, i can see how it could cause pressure issues. Having said that, I've never seen a filter that was not clogged cause pressure issues.

Dumb question, you sure it's the right filter for your application? Did you verify the filter was the correct one in the book/computer or did the parts guy just give it to you saying it was the right one?

Easy test would be to slap on another filter (different manufacturer), top off the oil, and see what happens.

What issues are you having?

Does your low oil light come on? Or does yours not have one of those? Everything else working as advertised? What about the Oil Pressure sensor? I know GM had some serious issues with theirs.... change the oil, and a new sensor was almost a given.
