i wont have the money to rebuild it for a while....so im going to have my old boss look at it....if the tranny's gone, i have no choice but to sell it......i mean 1st and 2nd gear work fine....just cant get above 50 MPH's cuz it wont shift...but its still drivable.

Not saying you have to rebuild the whole thing... Just remove your OD section and bust it down to the point of being able to access the governor (it's really easy once you get it out). But first you need to check your governor pressure to determine if that is what's wrong.

well im looking online for a Govenor pressure selenoid on autozone, and advance, and neither has a listing for that....if im going to have to tinker with that, im going to just replace it. would be nice to see a price on one...

Also i noticed i overfilled a little bit...fluid is just past the wave on the dipstick....could that be my problem?

Unless your truck is an oddball 95 that had a 46RE, you should have a 46RH... Which has a mechanical governor on the output shaft and uses tubes to send the pressure signal to the VB; no sensors needed just a good cleaning

This is probally the one and only time i would let a shop flush it continuosly with a machine...or dissconnect it at the cooler line and flush it. imagine how much crap is still left in the torque converter and whatnot.. it will be hard to get it all out.

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!

i went to get some dinner, and i decided to take the truck for another ride....

still got stuck in 2nd gear, then i said to myself "well if the trannys blown, its not going to hurt it if i mash it"....i gunned it and at 4K she shifted to 3rd...

I slowed down, and it downshifted perfectly.....then i went slow, and it shifted all the gears....went faster, hit o/d and it shifted into o/d....turned off o/d and it went back to 3rd...and so on...

So my trannys NOT blown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

ive parked it until i can get it flushed from my old boss....im not taking any more chances...i figure theres some dirt and grime in there that caused it not to shift, and now that it is shifting, that stuff has to be somewhere in the tranny...

Im so pumped right now.

Shift points when taking it easy

shifts to 2nd at 2200 RPMS, shifts to third at 2200 RMPS, and o/d (if its on) at 2K RPMS.....seems like those are the perfect shift points...

EXCELLENT! You got lucky.

Have it flushed good, and count your blessings.
