I have heard a few guys with the same "leak" and found it was a timing cover. I also changed out a water pump for a buddy of mine (He bought the cheap pump). Driving down the highway the whole center of the new water pump let go. Sent his fan through the radiator. So now he had to buy a new 400 dollar radiator and a new water pump. All because he wanted to save 20 dollars by buying the cheap waterpump.

I had initially bought the cheap pump, but my truck require the one with the pressed on pulley so i had to go and buy the $70 one. It fixed the leak but now there is a loud squeak for the first couple of minutes i run it. Any idea where thats coming from. (this repair was done by two college freshman with no real mechanical skills)

Probably a dirty belt/pulley. A little bit of dirt, will give a rather nice squeak.

Try spraying down your tensioner with some lubricant my buddies did the same thing. I have also had to replace a belt--it was the only fix.

serpentine dressing is NOT recommended...probably caused by the belt and pulleys being soaked w/ coolant. i'd clean the pulleys and replace the belt.
