Default Help!

Last night I pulled up to a redlight and an S10 pulled up next to me. He was revwing it up and as soon as the light turned green I dropped the hammer on his a**.

Smoked him pretty good, but this morning I noticed that the voltage on my truck was really low. The needle hadnt moved at all, so I took it to autozone. The truck was running when we opened the hood to find anti-freeze being shot everywhere. My whole engine compartment was covered in antifreeze, and it was shorting out the alternator.

I have no idea where it coming from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

pressure test the cooling system. if you cant do that, take it home, let it cool. (THIS IS IMPORTANT. LET THE ENGINE COOL) top off the antifreeze (just water will be fine) and see if it leaks. If not, start it up, and wait and see what happens.

Probably a failed water pump.

water pump probably. I say that because the fan will throw it everywhere.

Cracked head would not spew it everywhere. BUT an overheated engine will have coolant spewing out of the overflow tank.

Not that bad of a swap. Can be pricey if you have the water pump with the pulley attached. DOn't skimp on the water pump. Get the OEM part.

I think it is the water pump. I bought a cheap refurbished pump from oreillys. If that fixes the problems ill return it and get a better one.

Could be the rad spraying back onto the fan. Kinda a long shot though, pretty hard to get a hole in the backside of the rad. Get the alternator tested too, it may have been damaged.

I took a good look at the radiator and it seems fine. I noticed most of the anti-freeze was shooting out of the pump but the fan splatter made it hard to distinguish.

It could be a number of things, but I say water pump. When my water pump went it splattered all over my alt.
