How many O2 sensors am I supposed to have?
I have a 96 2500 with the V10 and I have the same thing with haveing 4 plugs and only 2 have sensors but here is where mine differs, I have duel exaust all the way in to the muffler including duel cats and a single out the muffler into duels but the 2 sensors are one in each pipe above the cats. can anyone help me? I am wondering if all 4 should be installed or not. I know that most of the people I have talked to when I first bought this truck in 2007 were telling me they were getting roughly 15 mpg out of thiers and I am having a hard time getting 10mpg. could this have an effect on my gas milage?
Folks have a hard time getting 15mpg with their V-8s..... your mileage is as expected for an Eight Liter engine, in a heavy truck.
You could try replacing your pre-cat O2 sensors, and see if it helps at all, but, don't hold your breath. (NTK or Denso sensors please, our trucks don't like bosch.)

Then maybe I should change back to Ford my 1992 Ford F-150 with the 351w got 22 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway and that only had a TBI system on it not even a MFI system. lol When I first got my Dodge I was getting 14 MPG in the City and 16 MPG highway so I dont know whats going on.
