Default Intake Bolts?

Hey. I'm gonna be ordering a bunch of stuff from summit and the hughes plenum plate in the next few days. Hughes wants $45 for the intake bolts and gaskets. That seems kinda high to me.

I was wondering if these will work just as good? I did a search and couldn't find anyone using them.

And i'm gonna get the felpro intake gaskets too instead of the ones hughes provides

I believe the intake gaskets are $25

I'm gonna call summit tomorrow to see if that set includes all of them that is seen in the picture. I doubt it though. I think all that is included is the intake...but they are felpro and i've heard nothing but positive things from them

Felpro does indeed make good gaskets. All you should need, if you are getting the hughes plate, would be the intake gaskets. Nothing else really has to come off for that fix, and the plate will come with its own gasket and hardware.

Summit has them for 12.95...that's about the cheapest I can find doing some quick searching. Purple, what brand of intake gaskets did you use and how's the repair holding up?

Dont use that gasket set. It has cork end gaskets and you dont want to use them. Use this:

And they are the same as some zinc plated Grade 5 bolts you can get for $5 at a hardware store. You want TTY (Torque to Yeild) bolts.

The plate I made should be working fine, I havent looked down the throttle body yet. I've only put 2,000 hard miles on it and havent lost any oil.
I used factory Mopar gaskets. They were twice the price of the FEL-Pro gaskets ($44), but they are the exact same as what I pulled off the truck.

Nothing wrong with the plenum gasket that Hughes supplies. It is the same as what Mopar sells now, and is BETTER than the gasket that was put on our trucks at the factory and the FEL-Pro plenum gasket.

I bought Mopar bolts from the dealer at $1.50 ea. Regardless of the bolts you use, make sure you follow the recommended torque pattern when installing them.
I used the stock plate and a felpro gasket kit (intake and plenum). That was about 6000 miles ago and about 1200 of those miles was towing a heavy boat and mine is still holding fine. A lot of people say it's a matter of time before it blows again but I got over 150K out of the orriginal.
