Default Convert auto to manual trans

How hard would something like this be? And if it can be done, how much would this cost? Not for the trans itself, just the cost for the conversion and parts needed for it.

IMHO, your best bet would be to get a 2500 that already has the 5spd....1500 5.9's didnt have manual trans....

many people have talked about doing this, but no one has gone through with it...its quite a progress

You would need all sorts of stuff from a donor truck to make it work. Pedals, pedal hanger, wiring harness, PCM, clutch linkage (or hydraulic setup, whichever it is...) and maybe the crossmember..... not to mention clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and trans....

Major job. Not for the faint of heart. You would need to blow a hole in the right spot for the shifter to poke thru, and you would need all the assorted stuff that seal the hole as well.

the money that is spent is not worth it. Best bet would be to get a dakota tranny and then bolt up a newer 5.7 to it
