I got the JET performance one from summit for 12 bucks. Because it was all stainless steel.

But guys here like the STANT thermostats from www.rockauto.com

Changing the thermostat is crappy. YOu have to take the alternator and AC off (not disconnecting hoses, but the compressor). Be careful not to break the coolant temp sensor on the alternator side. it is fragile (meaning a cheap piece of plastic on the connection)!!!

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...1&apwidP92KqH8

that is the T-stat you want EDIT, sorry that was for a 3500. Just look up STANT 180* thermostat by your year, make model, engine on the website BELOW

But buy it from here:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
it is only 4.57 on rockauto (the stants at the bottom , not the top)

and for the record, you dont gotta take the compressor and alternator off like he said. i did mine without doin that. here is how i did it. get alot of paper towels or regular towels and a bucket if you dont want the fluid on the ground. anyway.... just take the clamp loose where the t-stat is and pull the hose off and empty it into a bucket and then put a towel in the end of it,lay it aside. then yank the stat up and out, more fluid is gonna come out. then clean that area up and installed the new gasket and t-stat and then connect the hose back up and fill it back up for how much u lost. tools your gonna need extensions for ur socket and ratchet. but it aint that hard.

... then drain the radiator through the petcock until you get a gallon and a half. You'll end up with a lot less coolant soaked into paper toweling, and more to pour back into the system when you're done.

So I got a new thermostat in tonight but I think it's still gonna do the same thing I'll know more tomorrow when it warms up. I had to go back with a 195 until I do my plenum cause nobody around me had one. Wish ne luck tomorrow.

I also have had good luck with stant. But they will fail. I started using failsafe for that reason.
