Cool Well the time has come....

Well the time has come for my truck to head to the gear shop for its axle work. The rear started making noise on me a few weeks ago and I knew it was a ticking time bomb and well.... the clock has run out on putting it off.

I think I'm going to get 4.10's gears. Still fighting the want to get 4.56 gears.

Do you see larger tires in your future? GO with the right gears now, rather than pay this trip again......

if you get the 4.10s let me know how much it cost......i have a feeling that if i keep my truck long enough the front is going to need a replacement(didnt know it has had water in it, and its been sitting 3 weeks, and i had to deliver in it last night, as well as the pass. axle seal blowing out, and having to run it with minimal fluid), i already have 4.10s and love em

I'm looking at 2209.95 installed if I buy the parts. Install cost are 675 for labor that's front and rear.

I would like to run 35's at some point but tires cost a pretty penny.

Can anyone recomend me a gear oil weight to run?

i found in the summit magazine the 4.10 gears are only like 200 something bucks.....that could save you some $$$$.....but damn i guess the recipt was right...when i bought my truck it had recipts for the 4.10's and it was around the same......sucks PO had to keep recipts because they were tax deductable since he worked on his own farm, and the truck was built for heavy towing, and 4.10 gears......guess thats why my tranny didnt blow when i took on water....drove it 12 miles home, flushed it 5 times, changed tps, and now she shifts like new ....sorry to ramble lol...been awake for 17 hours...ive worked all day, and im tired .and have to wake up at 8....its 130 now...damn

My gear prices include install kits. Before I order I'm going to call them and chew them over on the prices like I always do. And I have found parts cheaper and if they can make me a better deal I'll go with them if not I'll go with the other company.

I'm under 600 F&R with install kits for yukno gears. Install kits get pricey good check them out sometime. I have been looking at **** stuff since March when I asked for a guote from the place that will be doing the work.

50% valvoline synthetic 80W90 and 50% lucas oil stabilizer (Get the large gallon jug for 33 bucks at autozone/advance/oreilleys). The lucas can actually be used 100%. But I like the thickness ot offers and it will keep the gears nicely lubricated.

I actually noticed a difference when i did it. and I was not expecting to feel a thing. Less of a bite and a smoother ride.
