whats the deal?
yea and that fine, just saw some post where its just random part replacement no real reason i thought it was funny.when u replace a part because ur doin another that needs it, that still falls into that preventitive category.
and to the unregistered user guy i mean you can come over if you want but i dont know what your lookin to satisfy, but when i get home from being deployed your more than welcome to come over if you feel the need to be a dick about something.

I don't get it, I see three words and a number.
Its funny to hear what all y'all wrote. I understand preventive maintenance. But unless its something like the plenum, who says my water pump will go out because yours did? Yeah it might but maybe not for another 50k. I understand doing mods, that's cool but replacing a pump or something just because? Seems like a waste because you don't know when its really going to go out. Instead you could take that money and use it towards a mod.
And its funny the people who wrote back and trying to sound all tough or something, for instance the guy who said "shut up and listen and I might learn something?" wtf guys...
Anyway, thanks for the replying from people who are not dicks. I just figured I would ask. Maybe you guys will think about mods now instead of rebuilding your engine that ain't bad.

And that is all because you didn't want to change the water pump while you had the front of the motor torn apart when you changed the timing chain because you figured you could get another 50,000 miles out of it.
Just something to think about. If you're already elbow deep in the motor and one of the parts that you took off to get to something else tends to go bad right around the mileage that you currently have then it doesn't hurt to go ahead and change it.

Lighten up and don't play keyboard commando. It's not a good way to make friends here. You're on Active Duty -- big deal. Been there, done that, own the t-shirt. Just come home in one piece and tells us some sea stories/battlefield stories, OK?

im not playin keyboard commando, just said he could come over if he feels the need. but anyways... i dont have many stories really cuz im a just a crew chief on f16s so all i do is get bombs shot at me and stuff like that. and then ill send out my plane to go blow some **** up. thats bout all the stories i got.
I thought all the f16's were getting decommissioned, have you heard anything about that? On the subject of your job, didn't our wonderful president decide to do away with the f-22's also (despite the fact that they're awesome)?
You can say THAT again! Worked at Lockheed in GA for a few years when they first developed that one. Spent many an afternoon watching them do test instead of doing my work. Lots of us did.
^^ Um, killed a plane that was to combat a threat that no longer exists.
I worked for Lockheed. What a ****ed-up, unprofessional organization. I swear that if they will the next bid on the FAA contract I work I'll leave. I would never recommend Lockheed to anyone looking for a job.
