"Good" is a very personal thing. For me, I have a family, and young grandkids that ride in the truck (more often than I do.......), so, I wouldn't do it myself. You might like it though.

My exhaust is dumped right behind the rear axle and I like the way it sounds. The only bad part is that the previous owner and did the exhaust, had it dumped right on the spare tire...moron. Here's a clip from back when I used combustion chamber cleaner but you get a nice idea of how it sounds.

It's how I've been running mine and I like the way it sounds but it is a bit loud. At first I was running with the stock cat that was duala 2" in and single 2.5" out. I noticed what seemed to me to be a big boost in both low rpm and high rpm performance when switching to the 3" i/o magnaflow cat without a muffler and using a y pipe before the cat. I just have mine exiting in front of the rear tire with no muffler and it runs better than ever. Not sure why people say you'll lose low end by remving the muffler because that isn't my experience. Of course I didn't get before and after dynos but I did actually try it both ways. The muffler on or off made no noticeable diffeence in power that I could tell but I was running one of those straight through racing type mufflers.

i have my exhaust end about a foot past the cat, and i love the sound of it. Ive never been pulled over for it.never had a problem with it....has a nice crackle when at higher rpms, but a good sounding crackle. nice deep tone.

Well, i did it. its got that straight pipe knockin sound or whatever its called (rapping maybe?) well anyway i like it. its not as loud as my mustang was but its close enough lol. if anybody wants a video i'll try to get one. i'm thinking of running it out the side. i took my catback off and it looks nice and clean. Oh and funny story, first person i see, a sheriff right behind me, good or bad omen he didn't do anything
