What are the chances of a truck not having the deathflash? I am going to get a headlight switch off of a parts truck tomorrow and I noticed when I looked at the parts truck last week that there was no update sticker on the computer . The guy wants $50 for it. What are the chances that it doesn't have the deathflash ( Mine Current does ) and am I able to just swap them out and expect a timing advance ? Any imput would be appreciated .

 

your 95 has the deathflash? I thought it was only the newer 00-01ish that had it... My 98 doesn't that I know of (no sticker and doesn't look like there ever was one there)

 

Mine has a sticker over the original with numbers written in ...I was assuming that was the flash

 

ok guys I appologize for this but new to this forum and the dodge gassers. I am a cummins runner and have bought my son a 1995 1500 that we are having problems with so wahts the DEATHFLASH and how do I tell

 

im pretty sure your guys models like 95 and 96 dont have it since we have obd1 only believe obd2 has it and it robs us of power in our trucks by retarding the timing due to all of our magnums having leaking plenum gaskets since they are made of steel

 

i have seem a 95 with the flash ask i think its bigram95 or sum had a flash on his 95


if you swaping computers they need to have the same motor/trans

 

my dad had a 96 and it had the flash

 

95 should be OBDI, therefore, you should not be able to flash it?

 

95 is OBD1 and it can be flashed............ BigRedRam95 had the deathflash on this 95dodge truck

 

Well problem solved!! My computer had been flashed and had the update sticker on it.....I went to get a new headlight switch and some cosmetic parts of a 1995 Reg cab sport that a guy had in his driveway half torn apart....I knocked on his door and asked if he would sell me the switch and plastic interior parts that I wanted and his exact response was " Gimme $100 and you can take whatever the hell you want" Well i wish I was more prepared with tools and maybe a flatbed trailer and take the whole thing but I did not get greedy and took the parts I needed as Well as a MOPAR performance Computer ! I rushed home to the garage and installed it ......then cycled the ignition just to be safe and Bam ....Runs Great!...was a little rough for 5 mins or so but now It is Fantastic !
