Pacesetter are a top name brand, so you can't go wrong with them. Black is prob the better choice too, stainless headers usually change color, and @ 318 it sounds like a fair deal.

The black paint will wear off very quickly. It keeps them from rusting on the shelf, it won't stand up to the heat. Then you will have stainless steel headers that will eventually turn colors from the heat.

They'll still work fine, just their appearance will change. There is a reason that ceramic coated headers cost quite a bit more... they are worth it.

My two cents.

are summits not cheaper? Also I agree that the ceramic coating is better because the paint will burn off in about a days worth of driving, so if your fine with the color changes then get the painted ones

My experience with Pacesetter is that their quality is terrible. They may be a recognized brand, but I personally would probably not buy their junk. Just my 2 cents. I personally run Edelbrock headers. JBA are also good in my book as are Doug Thorleys.

What jasonw said. In the long run, you're going to pay the price of the expensive headers even if you never buy them.

i got pace setters due to they were the only long tube header and i did not want short tubes, also the doug thorleys were out of my price range. I got the painted long tubes of pace setter and sent them off to be jet-hot coated which is just incredible stuff so check them out if you have time. May be a little pricey but mine still look good as new and never seem really to hot to the touch
