Default Loose brake caliper

Had the right front brake on my 95 Ram 1500 get very worn, which destroyed the brake pads. After replacing the pads, and tightening the bolts on the caliper, I noticed there was still movement in the caliper. This causes the right front to wheel-hop when applying the brakes. I thought it might be the bolts and sleeves, but when that didn't solve the problem, I replaced the entire caliper. This has still not fixed the problem yet. Has anybody else had this experience?

which way is it moving and can you create the movement by hand ? the caliper should mount firmly to the bracket, and the bracket should mount firmly to the steering knuckle.

pads should be a tad loose inside the calipers, but only in the in/out sliding direction.

^ for the wheel bearing and ball joints, grab the wheel at the top with both hands and push/pull with all your might. should be no movement in/out.

check axle joints. with wheel on ground and not in 4wd, grab the axle at the tube and rotate it back and forth. u-joint should not move, click, or clack.

Not bearing, and u-joint is brand new. When you bolt up the caliper and tighten it, it still moves back and forth (from outside to inside and vice-versa), as if the bolts are not tight, but they are.

Its supposed to do that. Pump up your brakes, and you will get significantly less movement. The caliper 'floats' on the pins. As the pads wear, the outboard edge needs to be able to move closer to the rotor, so the outboard pad actually does its job.

the other side does not have this movement. Only the passenger side. What about the wheel hopping when braking? This all started when i changed the pads. and only on the one wheel.
