Default intake manifolds

Ok ,I have been reading most of the plenum repair threads and have decided my 99 (which needs the repair)is going to get a new new manifold instead.
however the hughes air gap is 600 bones and summit has eldelbrock performer for around 270 bones.

Is there that much diference in the performance from the airgap versus the dual plain of the performer?

Looks like the Edlebrock Dodge intakes only go up to 1991. That A-series engine is different than the Magnum.

That manifold doesn't have injector bungs, it was meant for a carbed engine.

The Hughes airgap is dual plane as well.

Only manifolds I could find for our engines were all single plane, large opening (four barrel) setups. They have injector bungs, etc.... but, for a truck, a single plane manifold is not really what you want. They are more designed for high RPM horsepower.

That manifold has no fuel injector bungs.

I would think the dual plane would be better because the two sides of the motor wouldn't be fighting each other for the air coming in.

duxndogs, that's for a carburated engine (no injector bungs).

unfortunately that one won't work. its for a carb'ed engine and doesn't have the holes for the injectors. what's sad is that we should be able to buy a fuel injected version of that for the same $300. $600 is crazy.

edit - i can't type fast enough.

pretty crappy 300 bones for 4 holes crazy.
