Check the service manual. Indeed there are some extra components on the "premium" Infinity systems that I will need to check out.

One being the Filter Choke/Speaker Relay. Cool. I have some things to test out now and maybe just flat out bypass.

Thanks everyone.

When I got my truck, the door speaker amps were already cut out and the wires were a mess! I got brand new speakers and a new head unit for the truck, but have no idea which wires to put together for the speakers to work....

Does anyone have the color code for the wires that go into the amp and what they do, so I know which ones go together?

I have a 2000 dodge ram crew cab.

The best bet is to check out the Wiring section of the factory service manual, which is available in this forum's FAQ/DIY section.

Sorry for resurection an old thread but, I'm in the middle of an install as well. I ran all new wire for the speakers. With the oem unit installed the left side worked fine, found out i had a bad amp on rigt side 6x9. Anyway when I pulled out the head I found a black/blue wire disconnected, what is this used for? Mute? When I tried to put it in that pin it blew the pwr amp fuse. Also I didn't see a grounding strap or wire.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks Matt

But takin those little amps out might require you to turn the radio up more than normal, just a heads up. maybe come back later and install a new amp that runs to both doors. and as for ur tweeters, just run the 2 wires for them down to the + and - on the door speaker leads and soder them all together. will work like a charm.
what color are the tweeter wire color

Go to this thread, and download the 95 service manual. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W.

Welcome to DF.
