Default Drop hitch

So I towed a little trailer today and I need to pick up a bigger drop for the ball mount. It was a 2" drop and it was like nothing. lol. How much drop are you guys using? I was thinking 6" drop? With the 33" and 3" lift that should get me near factory.

I was looking at something like this because I will be towing diff trailers.

Towing with a lifted truck and oversized tires is just asking for trouble. I know that 100 people are going to come in after me and tell me I'm wrong/stupid/dumb/whatever, but I know that it's sketch.

Towed wayyyy to many vehicles out to races and never again will I tow with our shops lifted Chevy/ F250s.

Thats what I have, except I have a different attachment. My attachment is just a plate that only holds one ball though. I still need to order an extra plate for a 2 5/16 ball. Kind of wish I ran across the triball thing you did, but then again mine is name brand so I trust it. Anyway, mine looks like this one

Towing with a lifted truck is not that bad, wouldnt call 33's oversized tires either, the drop of your hitch should match the trailer your towing

If you change trailers allot and go from different load ranges and axle setups something like what your looking at would work good, but this is another thing you dont cheap out on, if your worried about the money you could buy three different drop hitches for less than that and just change them out.

Many times an adjust to the load on the trailer can mean a world of difference

Anything aside from what a vehicle came with is considered an oversized tire. Tires that are different size from the tested configuration of the truck will make all sorts of differences when towing. Typically these changes are not good. Oversized tires are heavier, therefor stopping distance is increased as well as brake wear and heat.

They also molest shift points and will put extra wear onto an automatic transmission.

Larger tires tend to want to wander when towing, because of the larger surface contact with the road. Combine all that with extra weight behind you, and you have a potential recipe for disaster.

There's nothing wrong with large tires on a toy, but it's a terrible idea if you actually need to tow something. I can't tell you how many gnarly gnar dudebros ive seen rolling out to the desert , with their super sick lifted trucks laying on their sides because they came around a corner and had to mash the brakes with a 10k lbs trailer behind them.

Any trailer is gonna make your stopping distance greater lifted and tires has nothing to do with that.

The reason they are on their sides is cause they are retarded and don't know how to drive

See I don't drive like a jackass on the street reason being I CAN'T AFFORD TO HIT SOMEONE ELSE. I just screw my own stuff up which is a lot cheaper than hitting someone else. I tend to take my time pulling trailers. Slow and steady take the longer way instead of the faster winday way.

My tries really aint that much larger than stock. 255/85/16.

The thing with the hitch is its going to be used between 3 diff trailers. The little trailer (1 mower to do my place) medium trailer ( used to haul all the mowers weed wackers and leaf stuff) The dump ( the dump trailer).

I will be getting 4.56's gears installed soon to help with the towing. The trailer I pulled today was a little tiny thing. Single axle just big enough to fit the 60" exmark.

I did post something worthwhile. I revealed a serious flaw in your logic. Not to mention that another user agreed with me.

Alright guys, remain civil please. So far its been a disagreement, lets keep it at that level and not start letting it get out of control.
