I dont know if the 3500 calipers will work, I put the 2500 calipers on my truck and they were direct bolt on replacement, I just went to autozone and got my calipers there, comes with a lifetime warranty so if I ever have a problem I can just take them in and replace them.
The 3500 calipers will bolt on its just that the rotor is not thick enough I am trying to find a way I can get 3500 8 lug rotors on my 5 lug front don't think the holes will match up

really..... ill have to compare rotors. the piston wont extend far enough to compromise for the difference in thickness or what?

I did some looking into it when I was replacing brakes and I looked at the rotors and looked on the INTERNET at the difference I think it would work until the pad got almost wore out then the piston might shoot out.
To dodgeman52 it would not be an upgrade if you went from a 2000 1500 cylinder to a 2000 3500 cylinder because they are the same size, you should be able to get a cylinder for a 94-99 3500 or go with a chevy 1ton for the dually and you will be better off

i think i found the solution.... the late model (2000 and up i think) 2nd gen 1500's have a thicker rotor with a larger diameter as well. that SHOULD solve the problem. a guy on this forum has reportedly done it on his '01 with sucess. so i think we just need '01 rotors and were good
