I own 1 made "this century".... a 2001 Durango.... brings to a grand total of 2, owned by me over the years, that have been... the other was a 2001 Cherokee (square body)
otherwise (currently) I have... a 1996 Dakota club cab, 318, 4wd. a 1999 Dakota club cab, 2wd, 3.9 (wheezy slug but decent mileage and dependable) a 1985 D-150 slant 6, 2wd long bed.
a 1978 Fury 2 door hardtop, and a 1980 Volare 2 door long term resto-mod project.

'Tis a rare occasion indeed that I own a vehicle that was actually built in the same decade. I think it's happened twice in my 59 years.

I'm in the same boat. I've never owned a vehicle in the same decade it was built. It's not in the cards for me, but I can afford to put my wife in new vehicles though...

Take it from a guy who has new trucks, they aren't worth it

Last Fall I bought the first car on monthly payments in nearly 30 years. I bought new trucks in 1986 (got plastered from behind), 1988 (biggest piece of junk I've ever driven, including my yard truck at the salvage yard) and 1993. That one was a '93 Dakota Sport and only had one major repair in 200,000 miles. A steering rack. I now have a 2016 Mazda CX-5 I bought in 2019. I recently tried to buy a 1990 W-150 but it was a pile of parts so I got a '93 GMC C2500 instead.
