1998 Ram 2500 bumpers

It'll bolt directly on, no custom fab work required. 98 was the last year all they did was paint the stock bumper, 99 they actually changed to the 1 piece bumper. So if you were switching to the 1 piece, you'd have to get all new mounting brackets and hardware but in your case, just buy the new bumper and it'll mount the same as the old.

I am confused here too, I am seeing conflicting information.
First: It'll bolt directly on
But then...... 99 they actually changed to the 1 piece bumper. So if you were switching to the 1 piece, you'd have to get all new mounting brackets and hardware but in your case...
But, in his case, he has a 98 non-sport, and is looking at a 99 sport bumper....... So, he IS switching to the one piece........
@OP: Are you getting the bumper off a donor truck? If so, take all the brackets and mounting hardware as well, just in case.....

oops, my bad, I didn't notice the 99 so yea, my info is a little off. You will need all new mounting hardware if you are going to put a 99 sport bumper on a 98. Sorry, I had 98 stuck in my head.
