Default Flowmaster SUPER 44 side exit on RAM 1500

Hy guys,

i would like to change my exhaust system because mine gibson split rear system is perforated by rust. ( the pipes after the muffler )

A friend from the german dodge-forum here wants to sell
his brand new flowmaster super 44 muffler.
( remeber: only the muffler, there are no pipes included )

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/sh...=&orig=9430452

( He has bought 2 ones for a 4 pipe exhaust system, but then he has changed his mind )
.... too much pipes under the truck *lol*

Now, i would like to buy this muffler and construct a 2 pipe exit
in front of the rear wheels on the passenger side. ( side exit )

My question now:
Where can i fix the pipes and the muffler ??

If i calculate aright, the super 44 muffler is not as long as my gibson muffler,
so i canīt use the factory fixture points.
The flowmaster muffler is round about 330mm long and the gibson muffler 600mm long.

Can someone give me some help
or do someone have some pics from a side exit flowmaster super 44 exhaust system ???

Thx for help.

By the way:
Do you think the super 44 is much louder than my rusty gibson muffler ?
... and what about the drone/growl inside of the cabin with a side exit exhaust system ?
( ending in front of the rear wheels )

greetz
Heiko

i have flowmaster 40 dumped before the rear axle and its a nice little humm inside the cabin, not too loud, just enough for you to be like yeaaaaa thats my truck. as far as the setup goes, just get a couple new hangars for it and have them welded in place where ur gonna need them. not hard at all. all they do is tac weld them in place. takes 2 secs to do.

yeah i want to change my si/do to a si/so aeroturbine and do it before the rear tire ,currently i have it out at the back and it sounds floppy to me, si/so just sounds better i dunno and those aeroturbine help amplify the sound of the cam and having 1.7 it would prob sound really good.. i know having the cutout was alot of fun so i dunno

Yes the 44 will be a good bit louder than your Gibson. I have a buddy with a 44 on his Tahoe, sounds great and doesn't drone but he's running a full tailpipe, obviously with a side exit you're gonna make it a little louder and drone more. Really it depends on a lot of factors.

Just get a muffler shop to do it, it won't be too expensive.

Had my 44 out the side, but... lost a lot of the sound in the cab. Chopped the side pipe off and put a 45 turndown on it.

Same here, have the 44 series out the passenger side in front of the wheel. It is not too bad in the cabin sound wise, definitely like it myself, and there are fewer trucks out there running side exits than rear. Every other Chevy and Ford has rear exit (the more common trucks around me) and I love the fact of the way mine sounds in comparison, and the looks as well. It makes the back of the truck a little cleaner looking IMO

there are some videos of me revving and doing some burnouts here to get the sound of it. stock exhaust manifold, y pipe, and cat, this is just the super 44 turned before the rear tire with 4 1/2" x 12" SS tips.
