you guys should do some searching before jumping to conclusions............

if you want your answer, checkout a few aftermarket companies like Rough Country, Superlift, Rancho, etc. they list shocks, parts, etc. most of the 1500 - 2500 share similar part numbers and size.

so the 'valving' arguement is BS.

NOW, if your question is 'will they work because they're longer' (which iknow you're wondering" the answer is i'm unsure. i have scoured monroes website to find the year/lift of truck that will work for a second gen ram with the lift you're speaking of. i can't find one that is more than 1" over stock. and yea, they're the diesel ones, that came on the HD trucks.

might as well just order some aftermarket ones made to the correct length. save yo utime and headache that i've gone through.

by the way, and 2500 with a V8 and the D60 rear end came with a 44 up front.
the 60s only came with diesels/V10s and usually had a D80 out back. the D60 is also a direct bolt in for a 1500. nothing is different except its a much better axle......

by the way, i have diesel coils up front; rides the same! cept its taller.

The 2500 came in two flavors, light duty, 7500gvw, and heavy duty, 8800gvw. The light duty came with the 44 front, the heavy duty got the 60 front. Mix and match on rear axles, engine size did indeed determine that, gas got the 60.
