so the other day I was driving to memphis and my cel light pops on. I stoped by az tp have it checked and it reads po445, egr system however my truck runs great no problems at all except for the cel so my question is how fast do I need to fix this im broke so if I could wait that would be great. any ideas???

 

reset the computer, and see if the code comes back.

 

+1 to reset the computer, just unhook the ground from the battery and some say to turn on the head light switch to help, and let it sit for bout 20-30 min. then hook it back up and ur gonna have to let it idle back out, keep it runnin.

 

as long as its not parked inside your house or basement or someplace that gas fumes might cause a problem - then no rush. it just means the evap system is leaking. it could be the gas cap, or a vac hose, or the canister, etc. i've had that cel on and off for months now.

 

P0445 Evap Emission Sys Purge Ctrl Valve Circ Shorted
