Smile Steering Wheel Removal

I need to remove the steering wheel to get the dash out of my 94 Ram.
I have removed a lot of them, however being kinda old school, I have never done one with an airbag. The battery is disconnected, do I have anything to fear. (but fear itself?)
Thanks-A-Lot

If the battery has been disconnected for a while, (manual says two minutes???) you should be safe.

i don't think you need to remove the steering wheel just to remove the dash. unbolt the steering column from the dash and lower it, push the seat all the way back, and the dash should come out.

It's easier if you remove the steering column though. There's no need to wiggle and sweet talk it to get it out. Then again I think the pre-98 dashboards are a little smaller front to back.

Yeah, I am removing the ENTIRE dash, not just the instrument panel. Looks like the opening in the dash might not be finessed over the wheel.
I do not have a shop manual yet.
Do I just remove the screws on the underside of the wheel?
Thanks

I successfully removed an airbag equipped wheel from one of my old Berettas to install an aftermarket. I just unhooked the battery and kept my face far from danger while I unhooked the bag... no problem

You have to remove the knee blocker, the bezel and the steering column cover then you have to unhook all the electrical connectors and the gear indicator wire then take the bolt out of the steering shaft (beside the brake booster) then take the bolts out of the bottom of the column that are attached to the firewall then the bolts that hold it to the dash board and pull it out.
It's about 15-20 minutes to get it out.

Thank you, one and all.
I finally got the plenum chamber that houses the Evap and Heater Cores out and except for the supplier sending the wrong Evap and Condenser, all is going OK.

Gonna replace your heater core while you are in there?
