Default How to use a vaccum gauge to test??

Can someone tell me how to use a vaccum gauge (one like you use to bleed brakes) to check the vacuum for the cruise control that is under the battery of 1998 Ram 5.2l? I am wanting to make sure that I don't try to put too much vacuum on it

Erm, not sure that you can...... the computer controls a couple solenoids in there to control speed, so, if the cruise isn't active, you can apply all the vacuum to it you want, and I don't think it will make a bit of difference.

What is your cruise (not?) doing?

cruising speed is about 7-10 inches of vacuum. cruise control will operate on that, much easier to pull the line and see if there is vacuum from it at idle, the solenoid controls how much vacuum gets to the cruise control anyways.
