Default How bad is this rust?

Well I picked up this truck off my brother in law for $1500, knowing there was rust.. I just got my license & this is my first vehicle. But today I really took a good look under the truck.. what do you guys think about this?

These pictures are from the front end, any advice?.. it seems like it has corroded inside too

Welcome to dodgeforum...

$1500 is a pretty good deal for a full size 4x4 truck but it does have some rust. The body looks to be shape. Nice truck

Thats not as bad as mine. Dont sweat it, that part of the frame only supports the torsion bar and bumper, unless you hit something bigger than your truck in an accident you should be fine.

Truck body looks good. When I got my truck I sprayed oil in all the spots that they rust most of the time Doors/over rear wheels/and the front over the wheels. I hope my frame does not rust like that it has a new frame under it.

you guys are making me feel pretty luck. I live in Northern California and I don't have a spot of rust on my truck. However I am paying for it since EVERYTHING I buy for my truck has to be C.A.R.B. approved, and I pay dearly for it.

Ditto, minus the C.A.R.B stuff.

To the OP, set a day aside, get under there with a grinder, get everything you can, and get some of that paint that stops the rust in its place, and prevents it from happening further. I have seen Stacey David use it on a Bronco project on Gearz once, stuff looks promising!

Other than that, the truck looks great man!
