Default Brake Trouble

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4. I noticed earlier today that my brakes were somewhat soggy when pressed on. I then notice that the brakes were almost completely non-responsive at anything less then 1000 rpm. So at low rpm I had no brakes and would coast to an eventual stop. Any suggestions? I do not think that it is the vacuum line to the power booster.

Thanks
David

Any leaks? I'd start by checking fluid level and doing a good brake bleed. If the bleed doesn't change anything for the better then it could be a part. I'm not a brake guru so I'm just throwing out an idea but it's a good place to start I'd imagine.

Is you pedal soft when you step on it? Excessive pedal travel before getting any stopping action??

+1 on checking fluid level.

Check the rubber lines for swelling or blistering.
